That’s kind of a cheesy post title, but hey, people are Googling that phrase which means that making money fast is on their minds. So let’s talk about making money fast.
If you are trying to make money fast, then more than likely you are in an uncomfortable financial position. Sure, it’s possible that you want to make money fast so you can go on the cruise in February, but it’s more likely that you need to pay your rent before by the end of next week.
There are ways to make money fast, but it’s hard to do when you need the money. It’s easier when you don’t. It sounds contradictory, but that’s the way it works. Desperation attracts more desperation. Abundance attracts more abundance.
So how do we get past this?
It’s not easy, but it is simple. Don’t focus on your need for money and instead focus on what you can do to generate money. Let’s review a few things you can do right now.
I’m going to suggest that you take a long-term approach simultaneously to your short-term money making objectives. That way, you will reduce (or eliminate) ever being in this position again.
I’m not going deep into the long-term, since this post is about making money right now. I’m just going to suggest getting started with your long-term income approach right away. I suggest that you start a blog, but you can choose any viable path that you are comfortable with.
Ways you can generate cash now
Making money fast is more about generating money than it is about building a business. That’s because building a business needs a solid foundation, and that is tough to do quickly if you are not familiar with the biz. And if you were, you probably wouldn’t be in this position right now. Let’s focus on generating money.
Sell some of your things on eBay
You’d be surprised what people will buy on eBay. When I first got started, I read somewhere that you can sell used sneakers, and someone would buy them. I though that was outrageous, and I subsequently sold two pair of my own used sneakers. I instantly became a believer in eBay. That was over ten years ago.
What do you have laying around that you don’t need? There’s a good chance someone else is looking for what you want to sell. Electronics, clothes, collectables, car parts, anything. eBay is a great way to generate quick cash.
Sell some of your things on Craigslist
Just like eBay, Craigslist is a good place to sell things for quick cash. But there are some big differences between the two, both pros and cons.
It is more likely that you will get more money for your item on eBay than on Craigslist. That’s because people on eBay tend to be serious buyers, and you also reach a broader base. Craigslist buyers tend to be looking for a deal, and you are reaching a much smaller base.
You can sometimes sell things quicker on Craigslist, often in the same day… sometimes in just hours. If you need cash today, Craigslist is a viable option. However, Craigslist does not provide any type of buyer/seller protection. Be careful, and take precautions if you are meeting at your home to make the sale.
There are also scammers perusing Craigslist looking for people to take advantage of. Be wary of people who are eager to buy your item without even asking any questions or looking at it. Also, it’s probably not a good idea to take checks with Craigslist. Cash is usually best.
I’ve sold a ton of stuff on Craigslist. I’ve also purchase some great things there too.
